The**Spotted 70's and 80's JDM cars** in Doha
Hello guys,
I know my thread is very uncommon here, but I know there are some members here at QL who like's and did see some old JDM cars around DOHA.
Recently I've been looking to get some of these old and rare cars, but I'm really have a hard time finding'em. Old cars such as skylines R30/R31, RA celica's, Corollas AE86, Mazdas RX7, Datsuns 240Z's and so (Anything that RWD and coupe belong to the 70's and 80's era)
So guys, I have this thread opened so that if you see or had a picture of an old or abandoned JDM car, then please share with us :D
Dose anyone have any JDM wraps like the initial D fujiwara tofu shop one?
I must be the smallest here on this forum with the age of 11..., Anyways I am looking for a Toyota Sprinter Truano GT-APEX you may know it as Ae-86...it is my dream car, and I want to buy it and drift it somewhere here on Doha, if any of you sellers which want to get rid of your 86, you are more that welcome to DM me at my email @ [email protected] thanks for reading, enjoy your day, evening, night. Peace
do you know how to import a skyline from ksa?
Find me an R30/R31 coupe or an AE86 and I will buy you a GOOD GIFT OF YOUR CHOICE
thu you have AWESOME collection, specially the framless ones :D
Well Brother,,,
i had read all of you guys comments and the request for 70's or 80's Datsun Or Toyota.
I have Total 7 Datsun/Nissan cars. 5 of them are in running conditions & 3 of these 5 are newly regestured.
I have Datsun 200L (c230) 1979 Model, Datsun 200L (c31) 1982 Model but it is modified already as Skyline GT R30.
I have Datsun 240L (c34) which called Nissan Laurel 1985 Model.
I have Datsun 140J which called Datsun Violet aswell 1981 Model.
I Have Datsun 180b 1983 Model (Station wagon) the gearbox is under mantenence.
I have Datsun 120Y 1977 Model. (fully Scaraped need to repair from 0 but no time to do it. i will make it in winter InshaAllah)
I have Nissan Cedric which called Nissan Y30(Hardtop) Framless doors( its in garage for modifcation)
The last car I have Mazda 929 GLX 1987 Model also framless doors. all my cars r manuel gear but most of them r 6 cylender.
I am not about to sale anyone of those as i know the value of my these cars but u guys r most welcome to see them anytime. I use them only once in a week or once in a month.
well, I know its possible to find in Qatar, but maybe people just don't know the value of these cars and scraped them away. I've seen few in Qatar before, but that was before I get a job. Now I'm looking for one to restore and keep it clean japanese classic. Here is an R30 just appered last week in KSA and got sold right away (hopfully in a good home/owner)
http://www.assayyarat.com/forums/thread205337.html
that R30 was stored for over 12 years (This one is a surviver) and its in mint conditions.
I think I'll take a nice trip to KSA next summer and hunt for those rare Rrrrrrrrrrr's :D
R31's, R30's,Ae86's?
I think you may need to widen your search globaly as they are very sought after everywere.
There is a Guy/Garage turn left off salwa road, heading from doha, at the Merc building.
You'll see some retro American cars from the 60's and 70's he has for sale. If he is as I suspect importing them.
He may be able to assist you in tracking down a dori wagon:D
And as for the question of Wankels in this climate, I think air temp causes a bigger problem for Turbo'd cars as they would suffer considerable performance loss during the summer due to High air temps.
My cousin has a Nissan Sema.. It's like a Rools Royce , but flom Japan..
wow 20" on RX8?? I guess you should go back with 18/17" rims as they look better on small cars such as your 8.
I'm currently hunting for old skylines (R31/30) and old corolla/levin (AE86/5) as I've seen few years ago, but don't know if I'm lucky egnough to find'em again :(
In Doha you can only found USDM spec for Japanese car that almost similar with JDM cars. I do have a rare cars in Doha, I have a Civic Si USDM spec with twincam engine and a Mazda RX8 USDM spec.. My RX8 probably the last of his species in Doha which is still exist in the road. My Wankel engine still work perfecly with only 39K mileage, the bodypaint still original and looks perfect.. No one thought it was an 2004 yearmade.. If you saw a silver RX8 with a shiny 20" Chrome rims roaming Doha, that's mine..
Not sure if a RX-7 or even the later RX-8 would be good out here - servicing the rotary wankel unit would be difficult and dont think you'd find many experts out here to give any help.
The Datsun/Nissan Z cars I have seen some classics; one is parked up on the Pearl (was a couple of weeks back) a old 240Z. Also spotted a beat up Z beside an auto electrician, guy I spoke to said it did not run and needs to be fixed but he seemed confused when I asked him if it was for sale. Would be a good project to fix up but yu could probably get a neat 350Z or paybe even the new 370Z for much the same costs.
An older american muscle car is much easier to find; spotted some sweet old corvete stingrays and a good old camaero up for sale, was tempted by a trans-am once but have limited parking spaces where I stay and it would deserve a underground spot to keep the dust away.
Qatars best known Pirate - Yaarr!
I need to spend a day in Al Rayyan to see some of those old skylines and ect.
anyway, I'd like you guys to keep me updated if you see any old japanese sports car that is looking for a good home, instead of someone scrap them.

nice info gadarene...
i know a local guy here who actually have a RHD and i've seen the car myself...
the car parked inside the garage and i still remember he told me that he will bring it out everytime there's a car show or meet-up or something...

@jspec,like i said, being driven around rayyan but i can assure you the way those guys have kept those cars,it's highly unlikely they'd even consider selling,if that's what you're asking, they're young local kids from Rayyan, wouldn't know where they lived or anything though...anyways mate, you're in the wrong country for this, where MOST people(save those handful of guys in Rayyan) can't see beyond a landcruiser or a nissan patrol @ best, there are no real car enthusiasts here & no changing your landcruiser every 6 months or your BMW every year DOES NOT make one a car enthusiast, you want to see these cars to your heart's content, may i suggest a visit to UAE or Kuwait? both places have significant car enthusiasts of ALL types,be they classics, vintage & these JDM type cars, the old skylines used to be called "kabr beddu" in Kuwait, meaning "bedouin's coffin" because of the number of Kuwaiti bedouin kids killing themselves in them because they couldn't handle the immense power under the hood(those models looked like "regular" cars on the outside remember? unlike the new GTR)...
Guys, What I'm looking for is LHD (left hand drive) japanese sports cars from the 70's and 80's
A 100% JDM car, is not allowed to be driven in Doha, as the steering wheel is in the other direction (RHD) so those (RHD) JDM cars are impossible to find in Qatar. I'm only looking for the LHD one's
yah I've seen couple Honda's (EK9's and EG6's) those cars are also nice, and can be fast when tuned right =)
To gadarene, where did you see those skyline's. I'm really intrested =D
y in some countries people only have left hand drive & in some countries only right hand drive?
JDM from ebay? errrr.... i dont think so...
but yeah you're correct sometimes some rare jdm parts ofr sale on ebay but for the red gauge needle... i dont dig it...
i've seen a lot of EG's and EK's and most of them are filipinos.

Quality dude! Quality!
Yea seen a few Nice eg's around all Auto's though :(
it would be cool to see JDMs here, I used to see ae86 near the hospital parking, and datsun too. but most of the people are into 90s honda, like the eg and ek.I have a friend who used to have an eg, he would buy from ebay jdm parts just to look "JDM", upto the red gauge needle...: )
" I was born intelligent, but education ruined me..."
Yep me too, amazing how things just don't rust here compared to back in the UK.
i've seen some datsuns running somewhere and it is amazing how the owner taking care of the car....
looks like OEM emblem untouch, interior is clean and the exterior is amazing!

Quality dude! Quality!
If this thread can track down one for sale lol I'll be pleased, a nice silvia or 180sx would be nice lol
Plenty of old Datsuns about 120y's and Pickups etc but nothing 100% JDM and more to the point with atouch of power. Hopefully somthing close to JDM with a Mannual Box will pop out of the woodwork soon :).
FS the thread is specifically for JDMs.

Quality dude! Quality!
Thx Sandman...so I cannot post my BMWs... they really looks cool..their first model..way back in 30s
JDM It means: JAPANESE DOMESTIC MARKET, If a vehicle is true JDM it will be right hand drive. I have only seen left hand drive vehicle here. Also, all the vehicles that are pictured are in the US, the tags are California!
What is JDM?
I have some old BMWs ..can I post that?
near one of the RAs...Not sure if they run now.

how about mentioning "JDM specs" and not really JDMs. Like what gadarene said, it is difficult or next to nothing for the JDM cars here in Doha.
do you actually have one of those you mentioned? i saw AE86 but a four door in industrial (junkyard) and Datsuns 240 (red color) somewhere in Doha.
How about Honda?

wow! nice thread mate, although like you said, they would be very difficult if not impossible to find here, firstly because & i'm in doubt here so i'm asking,if they were JDM,they'd be right-hand drive would they not? which means there'd be none here anyways...have seen some old 350ZX's & skylines around Rayyan side though...
