Street Lights are mandatory in all countries according to CIBSE standard codes(which deals with all standards regarding Lighting). If there is no visibility crimes are bound to happen.Even vehicles will suffer from glare.
Even though me as a Lighting Designer design Lighting according to the standards at the end of the much less is implemented.
But nowadays things are improving and i am happy about that.

Street light is every citizens right. Even without taxes!
Because of hot climate most of the time people wont walk near their residential areas and more over no chain snatching, no eve teasing and more over less thefts, only these days some areas are reporting thefts.
