Road closures!!

What is it with the authorities and contractors in Doha!!
You drive down a road, get to the end and .............
It's closed! No signs, no warning, no diversions.
Soooooo frustrating and so easily avoided if they showed some common courtesy to residents.

Or maybe it's a devious plan by the police to raise extra fines. You have to go the wrong way up the one way slip outside Apollo furnishings for example.

I have seen people working on the site (1 guy while 10 stood around watching--typical) The paper said it was because of a problem with a broken water pipe/mainline or something and that the intersection would be closed for 10 days. To get around the closure coming from Decoration RAB continue straight through the signal. At the RAB for Lakhwiya (don't know the spelling) do a u-turn around and then take a right. The right turn lane is still open. Good luck! The good news is everyone else seems to think the intersection is closed and so are staying away, making little traffic.

have you seen any one working on that site no everything is 100% there. thet wanted to lay at 10m cable and that should have been done with in one day where as the small part of signal turning to left was closed for several days.

The e-ring closure was well publicized in the newspapers for several days beforehand. I just wished they had shown a map as I expected the entire intersection to be closed and avoided it (going quite a long way out of my way) only to find a portion of the intersection closed. In any event it was very easy to get around the closure.
