Here's one for the Auto Geeks (couldn't put it in Auto Group as not a subscriber)
You may have seen this already (I was sent it in May) but it's quite amazing!
BEFORE YOU WATCH THE VIDEO, IT'S WORTH IT TO READ THIS:
If you though that those that set-up a room full of dominoes only to make them fall was amazing. you haven't seen nothing yet.
There is neither computer graphic manipulation nor any kind of digital tricks in these images.
Everything happened on real time exactly the way YOU'RE GOING TO WATCH.
The final video tape required of 606 takes. During the first 605 takes always something came up, usually of no importance, that did not work. The video tape staff needed to put back in place every single part of the whole thing one time after another, taking takes non stop for weeks, day and night.
By the end, they all were ready to resign. The cost of this videotape was six million US dollars and took three months to be finished, including the ingenuity for the plan of the whole sequence.
Moreover, the duration is 2 minutes, so every time that HONDA broadcasts this commercial the British TV station makes so much money that they could support financially any of us for the rest of our lives.
Nevertheless this advertisement is the one that has been downloaded more times in a shortest period of time on the history of the Internet. The executives of Honda think that this advertisement will soon pay for itself off simply due to these 'free shows' (Honda is not paying even a cent for you to watch this video!)
When the Ad was shown for the first time to the senior executives, they supported it without hesitation- including the costs of it.
There are only 6 Honda Accords around the World put together totally by hand. To the utmost horror of the Honda team of Engineers, the video tape team disassembled two of these to be able to put together this advertisement.
All you see in the sequence, beside the walls, the floor, the ramp and the Honda Accord that you see put together are parts of these vehicles. The voice on the speech is the one of Garrison Keillor.
The Ad caused such a tremendous impact on the executives that immediately they started making comments about the great artifacts of computer graphics manipulations that where achieved. They fell off their chairs when they were told that the whole videotape was real, without any kind of graphic manipulation.
By the way, you'll see in this video tape the new automatic windshield wipers designed with a sensor that puts them in motion as soon as they get wet.
Enjoy it

"I find it wholesome to be alone the greater part of time. To be in company, even with the best, is soon wearisome and dissipating. I love to be alone, I never find a companionable solitude"
