loads of expatriates and we have few regular Qatari QL'er too.

Welcome to Qatar. When I first came to Qatar, it took me almost 2 months just to get used with everything. I started watching "Trailer Park Boys", which gave me some pure fun. You can make lots of friends, but if you are looking for a "special" kind of friends - will be challenging for sure. :) Goodluck!!
