There's no gene for the human spirit.

Stars: Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman, Jude Law, etc.

Directed by Andrew Niccol

In a not-to-distant-future, the human society is now comprised between two types: The Valids - 'perfect' humans as they were genetically 'removed' of 'flaws' in DNA genes at birth; and the In-Valids - 'regularly born' humans. The Valids get all the privileges in the society, and the In-Valids only get to work for the 'low-paid' jobs as it is medically 'assessed' that they cannot compete in any of the 'privileges' because of their 'disabilities'. The story was about Ethan Hawke, an In-Valid who studies in an aeronautical school for Valids and was never evidently found out that he was not 'one of them' by any means with the help of a 'disabled' Valid (Jude Law) who supplies him with all the needs (urine, blood, regular pulse rating, hair follicle, etc) to 'retain' the perfect copy of the Valid's identity and to keep him to finish his studies and go to space.

A nice 'literal' science fiction movie. I'm surprised about their shooting locations for the movie (the use of that Frank Lloyd Wright's Marin Civic Center building in California) to manage it to retain it's 30's style of setting as a futuristic concept and to retain its 'literal' noir feeling of the story.
