Car Registration
Hello
I have arrived Qatar 3 months ago and realized that car is king in here. So I am planning to buy one. According to the money I have arranged the best deal seam to be 1998-2000 model cars for me. I have heard that there is some registration process every year for the cars to go to the traffic.
Is there anyone to clarify this process for me? Is there a model/age limit for the cars in here to pass the registration?
I would really appreciate any kind of informaton that you can provide.

your car have to pass the test before they let you to do the annual registration.
my husband's car 7 yrs old ... the last test he failed because of 'faded headlight'. He had to take it down somewhere down in industrial area to get it polished then re-do the test again.
The test cost you (i think) QR 75 have to be paid in cash, then the registration QR 65 have to be paid by debet card (NAPS) or visa.
The process will sometimes take you all day ... from the queueing and everything else. My husband have to take day off from work just to do this stuff.
Yes it is a hassle.
