Rich is a person who has what he wants.. content..

Poor is a person who wants more than wht he has right now.......

Financially limited... but content with life. can look very much like a Rich dude...

And many times a rich guy running behind more money forgets he is suppose to use it to buy happiness to......

At ned of the day wht matters is Happiness.....

Money is to buy Happiness... Money is not Happiness

Khalid -

A man becomes Rich when his money is flowing in market... not stagnated in his locker...

one remains poor if he saves money and does nothing with it

A Rich man. or Rich in making.. he works... brings money... His money too works and brings in more money......

of course with power comes all ill.... so people with more money and political power are the ones who generally break all rules..... but then. they are the ones who have wrked hard earning it....

and there are many rich people who are good...

they are potent enough to do the charity.....

A rich person who does not his money wisely will be asked by God what did he do with his money?

On the other hand the poor guy who spends the money he gets on his family will have enough money to spend it on bad things so he will be having an advantage.

You can't eliminate poverty. It's a sad fact..where there is rich, more people are becoming poorer and poorer.

I can, in my little own way contribute what I have to the very less fortunate and unprivilege people in the society.

The cars driven my even a lower middle class person... is much more luxuries than wht the Kings n Queens travelled in around 100 yrs ago...

WHo was more happy....

Driving a Bullock cart or riding a horse those kings where happier than 1500 cc engines people drive today....

Its all relative terms......

if you are happy with wht you have.. you are rich..

The saints n Prophets never ran for money and where the happiest people and are happiest people ever on this planet...

More than the present world KIngs n CEOs... :)

the only way to eliminate the poverty is that everybody should stop to become a rich. by default humans are poor.

people are fighting to become a rich. this fight u will not see in animal because they do not have this facility provided by the Allah. Allah has given this to his creature called "human" just to check and judge whether he/she obey his rules or not.

A pioneering piece of legislation that recognises work as a fundamental right and guarantees 100 days of employment a year to people in rural areas is emerging as a ray of hope for India’s poor, who have been left even more vulnerable by the aftershocks of the global economic crisis...You will find more such information on United Nations Development Programmes' website:

Global poverty cannot be reduced by a single method..

whilst initiatives such as education, self help, access to funds for improvement and even mass migration can help, each country has to look at its own unique circumstances and take steps appropriately.

No in Islamic countries no. Many Western states have such systems (the US is NOT a prime example because of their capitalist beliefs) and while they may not be perfect at least they're grounded in reality.

Zakat is still used by many Islamic states to fund programs for needy groups and individuals..

The argument here is about an ideal system, where the have's look after the have nots using zakat.. sadly, this is not available at present..

Sadly that's not an extreme raj, that's reality. Look at any place that has welfare. And as I posted in Khalids other thread, to go to the Zakat system would actually mean people are giving trillions of dollars LESS to health care, education and charity then more.

I don't think anyone is saying that Zakat is the same as communism..

The argument put forward was that people sometimes get too used to handouts and don't get up off their arse to actually do work...

when they say Zakat is same as communisim just because they do not know the communisim system and they do not know Zakat.

Is poverty abysmal or blessed?

One of the most famous lines in the Gospels is Jesus’ beatitude: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God” (Luke 6:20). Through the ages, Christians have been puzzled by what Jesus meant.

Many people act as if death is the worst thing that can happen to one, and pain the most tragic, but they are not. More to be feared are lovelessness, apathy, self-centeredness, or dread. But in our society, so often it seems that what we fear most of all is impoverishment and its companions: exclusion, ridicule, stigma, coercion, or early death. Poverty in spirit may refer to the characteristics in which people—whether they are materially deprived or not—do not rely on material provisions for their security and sense of self. The spiritually poor may be more “totally at the disposition of the Lord.” Dealing with harsh conditions of impoverishment sometimes creates a kind of intimacy with one’s own limits that deepens the soul. It can even create joy. “The deeper sorrow has carved into your being, the more joy you can contain.” So the poor in spirit are “blessed” or happy—and this blessedness has a stable core that neither ridicule nor penury can rock

Although I think we need to be careful not to romanticize economic poverty, recognizing that poverty of spirit can be a blessing seems especially important in these times. With the current widening gap between the economically rich and poor , we are easily trapped into focusing our attention on the material dimension alone....

Zakat is an amount which a Muslim should give from his annual income, and it 2.5 % of your annual income.

for example if your annual income is 100,000 Qatari Ryal then you will give 2500 Qatari Ryal to the poor people and you can divide the 2500 QR to five people so that each one gets 500 QR.

Once the poor people receives the money, many good things will happen:

1. Hard feeling from the poor people will disappear.

2. The poor people can send their children to schools and educate them.

3. The poor people will help effectively in the development of their country.

4. The people who are giving the money will reduce the crime in their countries.

5. The people who are giving the money will gain the habbit of giving.

6. The economy of the country will grow.

Can some one list more please?

heaven n hell is the time when you are leaving this body.. tht is dieing...

When soul comes out of the body... and if tht is a pleasant experience... tht is HEAVEN...

and when it is painful... tht would be HELL..

and only the person experiencing it shall know it.

and tht time cannot be called as time on earth.. and neither you have reached the beloved god up there...

so tht is wht it is... after earth and before reaching god stage.....

Poverty is a blessing initially, which taught people to behave and use it at right place when they become rich.....funds management!

Good governance is one. Corruption at leaders level is another factor. Education and skills is another. Any resource the country have should be properly manage and channeled to help the citizen, properly educated and retool for them to help themself. Poverty will eventually be erridicated.

Main coz of poverty is CONDOM.

Use Condom effectivly and SAFEly.

Make sure it does not have any leak.

Leakage to any condoms would lead to POVERTY...:)

People are poor or rich bcos of their mentality or mindset. People want to live like parasites and expect solution for their problem from others which makes them more poorer.

Employment generation and Education on family planning is the best medicine to cure this disease.

Rafsanjani, yes I said sex education first, because as everyone knows over population is a major factor in causing poverty. So if you EDUCATE people on how to use CONTRACEPTIVES then they will have LESS children, Therefore there will be LESS people living in poverty.

Can you grasp that concept?

Bella, Jesus must have been really bad since he was so poor he was born in a stable. He often talked about being homeless (the Son of Man has no place to lay his head) and definitely hung out with a lot of poor people and sinners. Was his poverty God's punishment? I don't think so. This is the one who said "The poor will always be with you."

Mandi

By Bella• 3 Aug 2009 14:32

see it iz in the Bible, babies r poor because of the sins of their fathers.

Leviticus 26:39 (New International Version)

39 Those of you who are left will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins; also because of their fathers' sins they will waste away.

Poverty is not a punishment for sins. If so, then pity are the innocent children who were born with poor parents. If you were born rich, you are lucky to have rich parents.

Some people became poor because of other people's action.

Some also became poor beacuse of their own action. But it is not a punishment of their sins, rather, it is the consequence of their wrong doings.
