A criminal court has fined an Arab woman QR5,000 for bashing up a male driver who did not allow her to overtake.

The incident took place in Al Dafna area of Doha. The court also fined the driver QR2,000 in absentia since he was vacationing in his home country when the court announced its verdict.

He was fined for trading abusive language with the woman.

Not being allowed by the driver to overtake, the woman became so infuriated that she overtook and forced him to a stop. She then got off her car and went up to the driver before slapping and kicking him.

The victim suffered minor injuries and could not attend work for 20 days, according to a medical report issued by Hamad Medical Corporation, reports local Arabic daily Al Raya.

The victim told the court that he was driving near Al Bayan Kindergarten in Al Dafna area and the wife of his sponsor was in the car.

The road was crowded and he was surprised to see the convict trying to overtake him.

He tried to stop her but she managed to drive beside his car and started swearing at him. In response, he also used abusive language, the victim admitted

in court.

The woman, furious as she was, pulled up in front of the victim's car forcing it to a screeching halt. She dragged the victim out of the car by his hair, and slapped and kicked him.

The victim was injured and shifted to the emergency unit of the HMC. [The Peninsula]

I didn't say "The arab union"

The arab world or nation, has one thing in common which is the Arabic language and somehow the tradtions

Wikipedia is an Ameriacn website

Have a look, as it seems it knows more than you do!

Wild Turkey: It all depends on one's perspective. I look at things from a broader perspective. Your view that a nation is a sovereign territory and needs a "political boundary," is flawed. Political boundaries have rarely withstood the test of history. Just during the last century, the world atlas was redrawn several times. In 1945 alone, Germany was split into German Democratic Republic and Federal Republic of Germany. That was "political" split. The German nation, their history, culture or language did not split, or did it? With the collapse of the Berlin Wall, the "political boundary" that had been created, disappeared. The German nation remained as it has been for centuries. As for the current crisis in the Arab peninsula, it is just a game on the political chessboard. It has nothing to do with the entire Arab nation which has own distinctive language and script, rules and regulations, culture and traditions, values and morals.

Maybe you mean the Arab Republic which lasted 3 years from 1958 to 1961?

By Wild Turkey• 29 Apr 2015 17:18

Can you move freely in your "Arab Nation". No, you can't. You need a visa. Can you buy land across the "Arab Nation"? No, you cannot. What are you talking about?

Is the so-called "Arab Nation" a member of the United Nations, Sulieman? No? Why not?

Wild Turkey .... It didn't take you much to show who you really are!

You left all comment and just consintrated on the word "Nation"

Anyway, It is the "Arab Nation" if you like it or not

I am sorry for that, it is already known, maybe nobody told you!

Wouldn't the "Arab Nation" include Yemen and Saudi Arabia? See what they are doing. They are bombing their "nationals"!

By Wild Turkey• 29 Apr 2015 16:26

Furthermore, the "nation only exists in the heart of its people" said someone. Do you think that all Arabs from the Maghreb to the Levant and southwards to Yemen feel like a nation? I have my profound doubts.

If there were an Arab Nation all Arabs would be citizens of the same. But if you are a Moroccan you can try to get a visa for Qatar, but forget a citizenship.

By Wild Turkey• 29 Apr 2015 16:23

You are wrong. The definition of a "Nation" requires a sovereign territory, a people who are the citizens of the territory, and a legitimate government. I cannot see an 'Arab Territory' and neither a 'legitimate Arab government'. Maybe you can rewrite the political geography.

A "nation" is a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture or language inhabiting a particular territory. In Arabic it is termed as "al-watan al-arabi" or the Arab Nation and also as "al-alam al-arabi" or the Arab World. Am I wrong terming Arabs a nation? I guess not.

This is a rare incident and should be looked at that way. By saying so, I am not in any way defending the Arab lady or condoning her act for what she did to the other driver. With a penalty already slapped on her by the authorities, it should send a message to her that she cannot get away with such acts and may be in the future if she repeats it, the authorities could come down with stiffer punishment. Personally, I have come across innumerable times when Arab ladies have stopped their vehicle and signaled me to cross the road when they spotted me at the roadside making an attempt to do so. I have always returned their kindness with a wave of my hand in appreciation and thanks. One must remember, it takes all kinds of people to make up this world. One just blame an entire nation for act of just one single person.

This is ridiculous....court should have fined that women and sentenced to jail at least a month ...because most Arab lady drivers are very rude......

Just Chill Guys You all forgets one thing...

Always give priority to ladies. Or at least some time…..

Usually Qatari ladies give priority to pedestrians and requesters with respect and smile

Sometimes such bad may happen, it’s between them don’t entertain such rare incidents.

Totally intolerable, inhuman & very discrimantion, bcoz the driver was a poor expatriate he got this..., good that atleast she got Qr.5000/- fine also ther should be jail so that others don't repeat..., sorry to say but nowadays Man is giving more importance to woman & this is the situation,

If any woman had done this in West or Asian country she would had paid much more for this.

Sorry but the woman was in the wrong . She assaulted the driver knowing he could not hit back for fear of going to jail.

I ask you again , would she have acted the same way against a Qatari male ?

Is everyone missing the facts and psychology the bloke was with his sponsors wife on which gave him an egoist approach in a busy road to bully with another woman. But she manages to get past him using foul language and he full hearted obliged to respond to which was like set fuel on the BBQ just to see what happens. And to add salt to injury she over/undertook him brings him to halt, drags him out by the hair _itch slaps and kick him to the ground where he must have lay down crying until the ambulance turned up. It's something to be out manoeuvred by woman in car but to be brought down to his knees in front of live audience, I'm surprised he's not asking for a compensation for damages brought to his dignity ROLMAO

@zohaibkix men are often physically stronger than women and one should therefore be punished harder for beating up a female.

She is a Moron and should be named and shamed. She assaulted the driver because she felt superior. Would she have done the same if a Qatari was driving ?
