Expired exceptional entry permit can be extended now for 30 days
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Qatar has worked diligently to protect the health of its citizens and residents.
With its success in flattening the curve, Qatar gradually moved from phase to phase of its easing of COVID-19 restrictions plan.
From August 1, 2020, residents who are stuck abroad due to COVID-19 could apply for exceptional entry permits through the Qatar Portal website.
Qatar Portal accepts applications for entry permits for employers, individuals or companies, government or private sectors, residents, and their family members holding QIDs. These permits would allow their return to Qatar.
An original permit issued for entry is valid for 30 days from the date of the issue.
The Qatar Portal and the official Twitter account of Qatar Government Portal "Hukoomi" have announced the extension of the expired exceptional entry permit to Qatar for a period of 30 days.
According to the "Hukoomi" account on Twitter, holders of expired exceptional entry permits can extend the validity of their permits for a period of 30 days, from the date of submitting the extension request. It is a condition that the previously approved permit be expired, and that the owner of the permit must not be inside the country.
